Brent began his racing career on Virginia paved tracks at the age of 8 in go-karts. He earned accolades that included MASCAR Mini-Cup Rookie of the Year at Southside Speedway in 1997; Legends Jr. Grand National champion at Langley Speedway in 1998 and 1999; and SERCA national champion/East Coast tracks in 1998 and 1999. In 2002, Brent began running a Limited Late Model on dirt at Virginia Motor Speedway at the age of 14 and moved to the Super Late Model division at 16. Soon after, he expanded his schedule upon turning 17 in 2005, by following the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS). By the end of the year, Brent had finished eighth in the points standings and second in Rookie of the Year battle.

Brent received his first career Super Late Model feature win in 2006 at North Carolina’s Wayne County Speedway and has since also been victorious at Dublin Motor Speedway and Dixieland Speedway. In 2007, he finished fifth in Carolina Clash Series points standings and won the tour’s Rookie of the Year award.

Robinson decided to follow the entire World of Outlaw Late Model schedule in 2009 as a Rookie of the Year contender and finished third in the rookie battle and 12th in the overall points standings.
